Trainer Todd Pletcher sends Lawyer Ron as the heavy favorite in Saturday’s Salvator Mile at Monmouth Park.  The 4-year-old will be the odds-on favorite against four other horses in Saturday’s race.

The 64th running of the Grade 2, $250,000 New York Handicap takes place on Saturday at Belmont Park. The New York is a mile and a quarter on the inner turf and will have a field of eight talented horses.

The long hot summer should be especially hot when it comes to stakes races. That's because there is a plethora of stakes at tracks across the country worth big bucks.

Rags to Riches became the third filly in history and the first since Belmont Park opened in 1905 to win the Belmont Stakes.  Rags to Riches won a great stretch duel with Preakness winner Curlin and paid $10.60 for the win.

Lady Joanne is the 3-1 morning line favorite in Saturday’s 33rd running of the Dogwood Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.  The Dogwood has a field of nine 3-year-old fillies.
