With an impressive result of 131-92 in Boston Celtics history, they achieved 22 years later their 17th Championship Ring, the first one for the current NBA champions Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. The great beginning for the Lakers didn’t augur the unusual result at the end of the game. The game practically ended in second quarter where the score was 32-29; but, from that moment, a partial of 24 to 6 for the Celtics broke the game. By the end of the third quarter; the Garden’s public was totally crazy and asking for more. The rest of the game is history, with the triples of Ray Allen and the intensity of Boston’s supplants. The cameras were looking for the NBA Champions Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett (with 26 points and 14 rebounds), Paul Pierce (with 17 points and 10 rebounds) and Ray Allen (with 26 points, 7 out 9 in triples). Cameras were also looking for Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol. At the end of the party at the Garden, Boston Celtics history will remember Kevin Garnett hugging with Bill Russell, David Stern giving the Larry O’Brian’s Trophy to the team and Paul Pierce getting his MVP’s Trophy for the Finals. “This title means a lot; it is great to get into history along with NBA past champions like Bill Russell, John Havlicek or Bob Cousy, they’ve started this and now I’m part of the franchise’s history”, said NBA champion MVP Paul Pierce. Boston Celtics news showed us how Kevin Garnett gave a big hug to Bill Russell and told him… “I’ve got mine now; my title, I hope you feel proud”. “Of course, you can be sure of that”, Russell answered him. On the other side of this Boston Celtics history game, Pau Gasol said that they were playing desperate, that’s why the lost the game. “I have to unplugged myself for a while, I’m pretty tired”, Gasol said. “I hope to keep playing with the Lakers for many years and I’m pretty sure that I will be playing in another Final”, he said at the end. “Garnett showed since the beginning of the game how aggressively they came to play; we never equaled that aggressiveness. If we want to get to the Finals next year, we must have players that give us that aggressiveness”, said Phil Jackson at the end of this Boston Celtics history game. |
