Mexico and the United States will meet in the CONCACAF Gold Cup Final on Sunday at Soldiers Field in Chicago, Illinois. It was expected that these two teams would meet in the Final but neither has played particularly well to get this far. "No, I'm not satisfied," Mexico coach Hugo Sanchez said. "I think we're getting better. I'm happy with the defensive performance, but the tight score, I'm not happy with." |

Mexico was able to get past a very determined Guadeloupe squad on Thursday and advance to the Gold Cup Finals with a 1-0 win. Guadeloupe showed they belonged in the semifinals but could not mount any offense against the favored Mexican team. |

The United States got a 2-1 victory over Canada in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup Thursday at Soldier Field in Chicago. The game was not without controversy though, as late in stoppage time a bad call by the Mexican referee cost Canada the tying goal. |

Guadeloupe can’t play in the World Cup, won’t be allowed to play in the Confederation’s Cup, but somehow they are in the semifinals of the Gold Cup against Mexico. The team will try and continue their improbable run on Thursday in Chicago in the second game of the Gold Cup semifinals. The United States and Canada meet in the first match. |
