Let’s take a look at 2008 French
Open Betting and the contenders on the men’s and women’s side. The winner of the last three French Opens, Henin would have
been the women’s favorite in French Open Odds.
French
Open betting begins on Sunday, May 25th and concludes with the Finals on
Sunday, June 8th. NBC will be providing coverage of the men’s and women’s semifinals
and finals while ESPN will provide earlier round coverage. In addition to
crowning a new champ on the women’s side in French Open betting; the men’s side
should be entertaining with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer looking to battle it
out again. This could be Federer’s last and best chance to finally win in
French Open betting. Nadal is a -170 favorite in French Open odds
at SBG Global. The only other two players attracting any attention on the men’s
side in French Open betting are Federer at 4.5 to 1 and Novak Djokovic at French
Open odds of 6-1. All of the other men
are listed at 20-1 or more in French Open betting.
The women’s side of the draw will likely have Serena
Williams and Maria Sharapova as favorites in French Open odds. With Henin out
of the picture it is possible that other contenders in French Open betting on
the women’s side could emerge including Ana Ivanovic, Venus Williams and Jelena
Jankovic.
The French Open has been a difficult tournament for many of
the top tennis pros to win throughout the years. Roland Garros Stadium has been
the nemesis of Roger Federer just as it was for Pete Sampras. Other top players
like Jimmy Connors and Martina Hingis never won in French Open betting
either. Conversely, other players
throughout history had been clay court specialists including current three-time
champ Rafael Nadal. French Open betting in 2008 should be exciting with Nadal and Federer the leading contenders on the men’s side while Serena Williams and Sharpova are the leading French Open betting contenders on the women’s side. |
